NEW VICTORIAN CHILD SAFE STANDARDS TRAINING SESSIONS (dates from April - Dec)

Victorian organisations that provide services to children are required under the Child Safety and Wellbeing Act to ensure that they implement compulsory child safe standards to protect children from harm. As category 2 organisations, churches are required to introduce standards in line with the Act. 

This training session will include:
- An overview of the Victorian Child Safe Standards
- Advice for implementing the standards in your church
- Analysis of critical areas and obligations under the Act

This workshop will assist Church ministry staff and volunteers to understand the requirements of each of the Child Safe Standards, including examples of measures to be put into place.

This workshop is suitable for ministry staff and volunteers in the following ministries at your church: Volunteers in Kids ministries, Sunday school teachers, playgroup coordinators and helpers, Messy Church volunteers, Mainly Music volunteers, Kids Club volunteers, youth group volunteer leaders.

The workshop will be presented by Amanda Lincke. Amanda worked in children’s ministry at Christ Church Hawthorn before becoming the children’s and families minister for the St Hilary’s Network.

COST:
Free (subsidised) for St Hilary’s network volunteers
$15 for participants from other churches
$10 for participants who are part of a group of five or more

Conference: Kidswise Children's Ministry Training

Join us for training to make your Kids Ministry flourish in 2015.
We’ve put together a program for leaders and volunteers that will kick start a great year in Kids Ministry at your church.

SATURDAY PROGRAM

  • 8.30am registration
  • Session One: Foundations: The Priorities of Children's Ministry (9-10.30). This session will look at how God’s word shapes our priorities in Children’s ministry and the practical implications of those priorities.
  • Session Two: Teaching God's truth creatively to school aged kids and to under five's Part One (11-12.30). This session will provide tools to teach God’s word faithfully and engagingly to each child, even the very young child.
  • Session Three: Teaching God's truth creatively to school aged kids and to under five's Part Two (1.30-3.00)

Sandy Galea is a Children’s Minister in Sydney who produces programs and resources for use in Children’s Ministry. She is a trained primary teacher who has had over thirty years experience in both school and church based ministries, as well as camping programs, Kids Clubs and Children’s Missions. For over 20 years she has been writing material for use in her local church, resulting in over 800 children’s talks. In 2002, Sandy published a book called “Children’s Talks – a practical guide”.
