How to make Great Church Video's with any camera (even phones)

This interactive and highly practical workshop will cover all the basics of video-making for church volunteers. Attendee's will learn about the following topics, and get to do some real videomaking.

  • Story structure: How compelling stories are structured (Event promos, sermon series, video testimony's)
  • Interviews: Tips on how to do great interviews using a clear three part structure.
  • B-Roll: How to tell stories without dialogue/audio, How to film a story.
  • Editing techniques: How to edit compelling stories (even with 'bad' software)

Workshop Facilitator: Zac Lewis. 

Zac is a freelance filmmaker -who has directed and/or edited videos for a whole bunch of artists and brands including, Penguin, WorkSafe, Creative Victoria, comedian Sammy J and The Campaign for Australian Aid. He's also shot and/or cut with other filmmakers Reuben Field, LateNite Films, Studio Bento, Chris Phillips, Infinite Fraction and Mark Raffety among others. Zac is a massive fan of childishly surreal comedies like The Mighty Boosh & The Goon Show, the wildly creative, often lo-fi documentaries of editor Chris King (Exit Through the Gift Shop, Senna, Amy) and the short form web creations of Eliot Rausch and Salomon Ligthelm. His short doco ‘Painting Landscape’ is currently screening at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival. He has also just released an ultra low budget short involving a vicious prehistoric carnivore.
