Tuning In To Teens is a six-week emotion based parenting program, developed by The University of Melbourne. Suitable for parents of teenagers, the course provides parents with a greater understanding of their teen’s emotional experiences while teaching specific skills that can assist in being supportive, empathic and staying connected with the young person. The course will also show parents how to help their teens develop emotional intelligence, which gives teens better coping mechanisms in the face of relational challenges, substance abuse difficulties and mental health challenges. Good emotional intelligence is also a positive predictor of resilience and thriving as an adult.
